Make a jazz noise here
According to a survey from about 3 years back, for almost 80% of music lovers jazz is the least favorite genre. Wonder why. Is it because of trombone? Tuba? Or maybe because people think it's all, God forbid, improvised?
Anyway, decide for yourself. Below you'll find tunes from some of my most respected musicians of today - Uri Caine, Dave Douglas and Matthew Shipp.
First two worked together on numerous occasions, also taking part in John Zorn's Masada project. You wonder why I'm not posting any Zorn here? Well, having a major respect for his work, I simply don't like him very much.
As for Matthew Shipp, he played for years with mighty David S.Ware and today seems to stand as maybe the most brilliant and original jazz pianist in the world. Just two tracks now, but much more to come.
