even more MS awesomeness!

Not as good as the Vista song, but close.

for good

Our sweet tabloid hippie has a new band and it's fun. Additionally, some sounds from beyond the wizard's sleeve... And check Totoro for some good music.

the new season is so open

It took only two weeks without any access to the 'net and my post office - and new releases are piling up and it's really hard to choose... but at least I'll try. Pop music first, as usual.

The Pica Beats are from Seattle and are so ok. New album from The Dears rocks as well. The Coral Sea come from California and play nice songs. Australian The Drones have such a nice name. Maria Taylor has got a new EP. And in case one is curious what's going on in Stockholm, Hello Saferide are always welcome.
And this list will be updated for the next couple of days.

strange overtones

frankly, I was disappointed big time at first, but apparently this album is better than it seems.

some new sh*t in town

Stanley Brinks is the new identity of one André Herman Düne, and he just introduced himself on the new album, which brings some seriously smart songwriting. Swedish connection apparently, once again.

Sweden - I dunno what's in the water there, but here we have another multi-talented chap from this country, Jesper Norda. Check.

And, from the other side of the globe, Natty is the new signing to Jack Johnson's Brushfire label. Goes well with my new boarding trunks, when the sun is high.

the sun can't compare

Just when I thought that the artists' creativity in the field of cover song has reached its limits, one Mika Vainio appears with his rendition of a Pink Floyd classic. Brilliant. I'm posting this to commemorate today's solar eclipse, due in 5 minutes!

house music

found this rather awesome live session from Move D, recorded few days ago - highly recommended!

...

good news...

...for boys like me. New Oasis album is coming in early October. Right now there's a neat remix from the Chemical Brothers.

Proper Rock

My Hero

It's from Channel 4's "Modern Toss".

and more of Elvis

and two longer ones:

You probably have enough of Flo-Rida's "Low"... and so do I. But this remix by Travis Barker fixes things up big time.

My Medicine

"the more dedicated, the more medicated"

...and more of our cat...

(there's also a second one, but it's just that this one is more camera-friendly. so to say.)

a comparative exercise

Here are two versions of the excellent "Toledo", penned by Elvis Costello and Burt Bacharach. First one is the original, the other is rearranged by Bill Frisell and played by his band (featuring Don Byron and Brian Blade).
