What I want for Christmas?

Actually, I can't think of anything special... Nothing, really. I'm fine.

Still no clue...

I watched Martin Scorsese's "No Direction Home" yesterday, which is a great movie and a great introduction to Bob Dylan for all those who don't understand yet. But despite all its greatness (ol' Zimmy is able to make you speechless just by saying "I don't know") still one question remains unanswered: was it really Bob Dylan who introduced The Beatles to smoking weed?

With all your power

Jean Ai Nipon is a DJ extraordinaire and a super nice fellow. His EP "With All Your Power" just came out on Karat. Check those party tools and check DJ Ai whenever he's around.

I Like Sex

As a Borat follower from day one, I'm a bit fed up with all the people going "jakshemash" wherever I go. I mean, come on, I might say "whoawhoawewa!" once in a while, but definitely I won't say "dziekuje!" no more. Here's something special: Doormouse going all mental with our favourite Borat quotes. This was released in June on his Distort label.

shake your body

Today two rare gems. Digging through a pile of records I thought I'll get rid of, I found this: Zongamin's take on Capital K's "City", back from 2001. Never too much of Zongamin remixes, so here it goes. Next one is a toxic mental acid insanity - mighty Soul Jazz Records brings us sick remixes of Capracara's "Opal Rush" by the one and only Kit Clayton (been silent for a while, huh?). Here is the vocal version. Drop the acid.

funk funk funk

Justice's "Waters Of Nazareth" wat probably this year's most uber-hyped record. Truly, it's a massive tune. But the LEAST talked about rework was probably DJ Funk's take on "Let There Be Light". It's so crazy that I decided to pitch it down to -8 for all itunes DJs. Next one is deliciously pink vinyl from the Boys Noize camp - artist's name is Puzique and this track is called simply "Thomas". Enjoy.

Step On

Shackleton seems to be one of this year's most amazing producers, and definitely one to watch. Here's a brand new monster, just came out on Hotflush Recordings. Tight workout, no doubt.
And Burial's self titled LP is surely this year's deepest album. And I mean, it's REALLY deep. Check one track and be sure to buy - it's serious!

Yes, I'm not

The Kinks' "I'm Not Like Everybody Else" was released in June 1966 as a B-side to the heartbreaking "sunny Afternoon". It was covered by, among others, Camper Van Beethoven, Boss Hog and Television Personalities. Great band, great song. Here's an edit:

farm life

Howe Gelb's "'Sno Angel Like You" on Thrill Jockey is one of this year's strongest records. It's a bit like the Bible, but much, much better. Truly spiritual record, and it rocks, too. Anyway, here's an edit I made of "The Farm". Go straight to your barn and dance all night.
