Ok, after all those MOR (yep, face the truth) I posted earlier time to look into some music designed primarily for dancing.
First, I have to say that I somehow underestimated Claude Vonstroke, whom I like, but his tracks/remixes were getting quite homogenous for a while - even the best idea loses impact repeated over and over. This said, I am totally stunned by this remix he did for Poxymusic feat. Gina Mitchell. For my ear, at times he seems to be channeling Jaydee's "Plastic Dreams", but the result is by no means smashing, especially if you happened to know the original track.
Luke Solomon, on the other hand, just came up with a new album and there is much rave about it. Well, I'm not sure - I'll stick to his singles and remixes, as "The Difference Engine", although neatly executed, brings me very little excitement. Maybe it's because of some samples he uses - come on, do we really need to hear the same quotes from Uncle Bill and McKenna all over again? "Storm the studio", anyone? Is it a hommage to Meat Beat Manifesto? Btw, Jack Dangers also have a new album and it's not good at all. Anyway, here's a new remix Luke Solomon did for Andomat 3000.

Adam Green used to be in a group called The Moldy Peaches - and I have to admit that although this name rings a bell, I'm completely not familiar with their output. It also seems that he enjoys quite successful solo career for the last six years, and managed to release four solo albums, which I apparently missed. Okay, his fifth record "Sixes and Sevens" is out soon via Rough Trade, and all I can say is that I'm totally, and completely, sold on this one.
People keep comparing Green to Jonathan Richman and Leonard Cohen - ok, maybe, but this album for me sounds like a crossover between Scott Walker (of course, because it seems like today literally every singer is influenced by Scott Walker) and Nick Cave, with very clever lyricism and a healthy dose of weird humor.

Japancakes are from Athens, GA and "Loveless", released last Fall, is, well, My Bloody Valentine's classic 1991 album, replayed in its entirety. Instead of massive wall of sound tho, we have some pleasant American instrumental ramblings with cello as a leading instrument. What's the point in covering the whole album, you may ask. Well it seems stupid to me as well, especially when you have an undisputed masterpiece to start with, but in this case the result is surprisingly pleasant to the ear. Enjoy, and remember the originals!

First two worked together on numerous occasions, also taking part in John Zorn's Masada project. You wonder why I'm not posting any Zorn here? Well, having a major respect for his work, I simply don't like him very much.
As for Matthew Shipp, he played for years with mighty David S.Ware and today seems to stand as maybe the most brilliant and original jazz pianist in the world. Just two tracks now, but much more to come.
